The story of the hay aperitif, Fabrice Chevrier’s original creation, began with a true stroke of inspiration. While tasting an extraordinary hay ice cream at La Table d’Angèle
(a restaurant in La Bresse), he had the idea of creating a drink with the same flavors. Easier said than done! It took no fewer than 100 attempts between 2008 and 2010 to achieve perfection.
Today, it is the flagship product of Cuvées Vosgiennes, recognized by the world of gastronomy and acclaimed by the most discerning palates.
The exceptional Le Foin® de Montagne blend is made from white wine and a decoction of floral hay harvested by hand from wild meadows at an altitude of between 700 and 900 meters.
Thanks to a closely guarded secret, this natural infusion of hyperfloral mountain hay releases aromas of quince, apple, pear, honey, and cinnamon on the palate.
Its smoothness and roundness make it the ideal accompaniment to your aperitifs: mountain cheese, charcuterie, pan-fried foie gras on toast, and other delicacies.
The same production process as our best-selling mountain hay brandy, with the only difference being that the hay was harvested from the peaks of the Hautes Vosges at an altitude of between 1,100 and 1,300 meters.
Mellow and more concentrated, it has all the aromas of the Vosges stubble fields.
This cuvée develops floral and orchard fruit notes in a hay-like envelope.
It is perfect as an aperitif to accompany pan-fried foie gras on toast.
